CHAPIN GIRLS DANCE TEAM

About our Club

The Chapin Girls Dance Team is comprised of four dance teams:  the Chapin Intermediate Team, the Chapin Middle School Team, and the Chapin High School Junior Varsity and Varsity Teams.  Dancers for all  teams are students at the Chapin schools and are coached by Head Coach Sheryl Olecheck who is assisted by Brittany Olecheck, Hayley Olecheck, Nicole Urbany, and Lisa Farrell.  Dancers also receive ballet training from Kim Langley.  The dancers perform at Chapin football games, school pep rallies, select home basketball games, and at various other dance programs in Lexington-Richland District Five.  Each team also competes at state, regional, and national dance competitions each year.

In order to continue to compete at the National level, the Dance Teams rely heavily on the Chapin Girls Dance Booster Club, Inc., a non-profit booster club comprised of volunteer parents and Coach Olecheck.  In addition to day-to-day club management duties, the Booster Club coordinates fundraising efforts and corporate sponsorship solicitations because none of the teams receive any school or district funding.

With the assistance of the Booster Club, the Varsity and JV Dance Teams hosts a summer dance clinic each year for ages 4 through rising 4th graders. These clinics not only give the Chapin Girls an opportunity to share their love for dance with young, aspiring dancers, but the proceeds from these clinics will help fund their annual trip to the Contest of Champions Nationals competition held in Orlando, Florida each March.

The Chapin Girls dancers are not only committed to their sport and earning National titles, they are also committed to their schools and are expected to be - and are - exemplary students and citizens.  In addition to supporting the various athletic programs in the Fall and Winter at the Chapin schools, they also engage in several community service projects each year.
